Enhancement: Token placement shield
It would be possible to make levels harder by restricting where the user can drop tokens.
A couple of ideas for types of puzzle that can be made with this:
- Levels like UFO could designate part of the level as 'out of bounds' for modifications. So e.g. bridge tokens have to be dropped in the top half of the level, and can't be used to 'cheat' by blocking up the passages with bridges.
- Timing based levels where tokens have to be dropped down a few cells onto rabbits.
- Levels where it's impossible to simply bridge from the left hand side to the right, because the middle is shielded. Instead the bunnies must find a safe way down, then across and then back up the other side.
The shield could look like a chain link fence (criss-crossing diamonds) and could be shown in front of everything else to indicate that there's a barrier between the user and the rabbits.
Interesting idea. I am definitely interested in further discussion and prototype levels.
"i" before "e" except after "c".
I would like to see this tried. How can we make it look cool?
Mist? Glass? Something playing on the theme of graph paper?
@GamingInky suggests a tear or hole in the paper

I got it right two out of three times!
My suggestion for what it might look like (a shield covering four squares):
