Request feature, multiple button instead of drop down on 1 button

Open philippemercure opened this issue 7 years ago • 5 comments

Hello to you. It would be cool if instead of having one button with a drop down of the available button we could have multiple button in the toolbar. And maybe even select the one we want to see in the toolbar and the one to be available only in the dropdown. Waitings news. Thanks.

There is no way to have multiple buttons. This is the browser limitation!

The extension always switch to the most recently used context action for the next left-click. I guess that makes sense.

Mmm, I see. I thought that maybe the generation of the button was on the extension side and not the browser side. Thanks for your answer. Philippe.

I do not think one button for numerous extensions is useful; I think it can be confusing.

For those who need to have multiple buttons, load this extension in the developer mode. Since the extension uses non-persistent background page, there is no resource usage while the extension is not used, so having multiple ones do not degrade your browser performance at all.

Note that you will need to reinstall the native client to add all the new ids.

Hey andy-portmen,

do I understand you correctly, that in developers mode I can have several buttons? ... But what is developers mode? ... It is not the development branch of the code, I can see. What is it then?

And also: If the browser does not allow for multiple buttons, why not have multiple extensions with single buttons? I tried to install a second Button-Addon but no success either. :-(
