How to clear the default app?

The way I use the add-on is always via the context menu; I use the toolbar button to access the settings. But somehow I've managed to attach one of the apps to the toolbar button. The "Toolbar button" checkbox is unchecked for all the apps, so this should mean none of the apps are attached to the toolbar button, right? What I want is for the toolbar button to open the settings of the add-on, as it did before. How can I do this?

Answering my own question... it seems that the way to clear the default is to delete the default app; I managed to do it by creating a new dummy app, checking "Toolbar button" to make it the default, then deleting the dummy app. But shouldn't there be an easier way than this?
