Every day of multi-day event shown in spite of setting for "show past events"

In the event filters settings I have "show past events" set to "ended today". I then had an event spanning several days in calendar and when I got to the last day of this event, the widget showed every day in the past from the first day of that event.

Normally with this setting I never see events from previous days and so I expected to see only future days of multi-day events.
