Tools to prevent adding TLDs to white/black lists

I started seeing strange behavior where sites where being allowed when I thought they should be blocked. I eventually tracked this down to TLDs ending up on my whitelist - in one case it was **.com - some other cases were a little more understandable like **.org.uk or **.me.uk

It would be nice if there were some kind of extra warning before adding known TLDs to the white/black-list.

It might also be useful if there were some tool to find existing TLD entries that have gotten into the white/black-list.
