Explain why "Play <song> on <app name>" doesn't work
Add a question to the FAQs explaining how Google Assistant has a fixed list of apps which can use this, and how to apply to have your app added.
Please add this ASAP. I need to know how to apply and what are the criteria
The short answer is here: https://developers.google.com/actions/media/ which should hopefully be a bit of help in the meantime.
Thank u for ur answer but honestly i dont get it, how that link could help because form what i understood form https://developer.android.com/guide/topics/media-apps/interacting-with-assistant i should be able to make google assistante query my app directly using ACTION_PREPARE_FROM_SEARCH (used in this demo) without media action. Media Actions where mentioned when talking about ACTION_PREPARE_FROM_URI (+) "(+) Google Assistant URI-based actions only work for companies that provide URIs to Google. To learn more about describing your media content to Google see Media Actions."
It's a bit confusing, i guess i will be waiting for ur long answer :)
I am having the same issue. The docs are incredibly unclear on this.
Hi, I have the same issue too. Can you explain how to do it? If I use the UAMP application id in my app, it work. So I think the only problem is: How to bind my application id with the name of my app on google? I already published my app on google play as closed alpha.. i need to have it in production? Please let me know.
Being in production is not enough, and I don't know if it's necessary.
The key seems to be in @nic0lette answer, but that may be necessary but not enough.
Did someone figure this out? I can't make sense of the linked docs.
Hi, please provide some update on this, can't find much in the doc.
