Can't Detect Specific Device

I have two Android phones and have gotten the app on both of them. The scanning works on both phones, as I see a large list of "Unknown device"s pop up. However, the two phones can't discover each other, even after I hit scan many times to refresh the list. What could be causing this?

have you been able to resolve the issue you encountered? If not might you be able to clarify?
