Maps backup - Instructions to export/ import/ transfer downloaded maps to other devices

The offline maps get big, instructions for how to back these up to desktop PC, and restore them onto a new/ another phone/ or same device, would be useful.

Alternatively an automated way to "easily" share downloaded maps with another device, could possibly be a useful feature (e.g. via wireless ad-hoc network, USB etc).

(another thought is that when testing multiple FLOSS mapping apps that use OSM map data, there should be a way to share the map cache with each app)

Check the /android/data/ folder and search for trekarta or maptrek. The biggest file is the the map file. You can copy it to another device, just make sure that the path is the same. These folders also contain waypoints and tracks files. You can do the same to backup them. Good luck!
