Hide from default view: badges reappear as unordered entities

Trying the https://github.com/andrey-git/home-assistant-custom-ui/blob/master/docs/features.md#hiding-entities-from-default-view-tab hide entities from default view functionality on a few groups

group.bitcoin:
  hide_in_default_view: true
group.coinmarket:
  hide_in_default_view: true
group.fixerio:
  hide_in_default_view: true

makes their separate entities show up again on the Homepage as unordered entities:

fixerio:
  name: Fixer.io
  icon: mdi:currency-eur
  entities:
    - sensor.euro__great_britain_pound
    - sensor.euro__indonesia_rupia
    - sensor.euro__us_dollar

Is this expected behavior? Would have hoped to have them disappear completely except for the group in View i have declared them to show in.

The issue is not clear here. Please post the relevant parts of the config fully.

not really sure what i could add. without the above hide_in_default_view, this group Fixer.io shows on the automatic frontpage (when one hasn't defined a default_view group.) with all available groups.

Trying to hide the group from that page, using that customization, the individual sensors show up as Top of the page sensors again, like all sensors that are not grouped yet.
