Device Changes Alsa Backend

When I insert a removed USB audio device, device changes are detected but probe error: unable to open device occurs when getting device details. I'm using "sio_list_devices --watch" on Ubuntu 16.04 x86_64 with alsa backend. Example output:

USB Audio CODEC, USB Audio: Default Audio Device id: sysdefault:CARD=CODEC probe error: unable to open device

Device is successfully opened when application is restarted. Pulseaudio backend seems to detect fine.
