yeah I was thinking along the lines of [otel-go](https://github.com/open-telemetry/opentelemetry-go/) and [otel-go-contrib](https://github.com/open-telemetry/opentelemetry-go-contrib/). I could swear I've seen more examples of this, but I can't think of any at the moment.
