The main problem of a Network of researchers in my opinion is the problem of identity and identity verification. This issue is therefore related to the OAuth issue. We need indeed that just real researchers sign up to the Network and we need to avoid trolls wandering around. It is also an issue of internal security and avoiding spam, scam, etc. The main advantage with ORCID is that we assure the verification of the identity of the researchers and that we have all the benefits of the ORCID registry of researchers. We could therefore, for example, ask the researchers to sign up through OAuth authorization via ORCID.
