Devices appear twice in Google Home

Open simonbove opened this issue 4 years ago • 9 comments

Hi @andrei-tatar I added a new device to my node red. After that Nora would not connect. I tried to revoke the token and add a new one. It didn't work Then I tried to change the group for the Nora setup in node-red. This worked and it became online again. The problem now is that the devices appear twice in the Nora website and on Google Home. The old one's are not working any longer, but shows up anywhere. The new devices in the new group appears as well.

Tried to change back to the old group, but then offline again.

How do I remove the duplicate devices?

Happy new year

I do face the same problems, also initialised by the issue of socket connection following the same steps as above.

  • Used a token key
  • Added a new group
  • Unlinked Nora in Google Home
  • The connection came back but then also all devices twice

It is caused by adding the group, on the Nora page there is one group withouth any name and one with a name. Both are now used in google home app.

How to choose a group or delete a group?

Short update: Somehow all double devices did disappear automatically, around 6 hours later.

Yes they disappeared here as well after around 30 hours. Very nice. I guess @andrei-tatar fixed it 😀

The service gets "reset" every 24 hours, when you change the group etc, you always get duplicate but once 24 hours is passed you should see it fixed. @simonbove or @TonKro recently I am getting A LOT of "Sorry couldnt reach Nora or Nora is not available" are you guys getting the same? usually it goes away if I keep asking Google, 2-3 times then it will work.

...same here, @Raul-7-7 - it used to work fine for months, and recently I'm getting exactly this error about one out of every three calls.

@davidmuc interesting, looks like not "everyone" is getting it. Yeah, I been using Nora for a VERY long time, it has been flawless until recently, I wonder if its because IFTTT going paid and many are using NORA now? I tried running the Nora service myself, however I could never get it to work and unfortunately no one responds to anything there, so cant figure out how to fix it!!!

@Raul-7-7 , let's hope that @andrei-tatar is aware of the bug and will be able to resolve it. I'm relying on his service, as other's haven't provided a working solution and NORA works great! ;-)

Same here @davidmuc !!! I have tagged @andrei-tatar a few times, hopefully he is still supporting this AMAZING plugin. I am more than happy to help with testing or anything else that is required.
