I don't find the related comment but I'd agree that it would be great to have an org if this should be a long-term evolution of sprig.

It's all yours ;) gardenkit sounds nice but is not obvious. I have no further opinion on naming.
I think it would be important to find a small team to maintain this. You're enthusiasm is great- but sooner or later life will happen...
I'd be happy with 2. No point in doing 1 if that's not the long-term intention.
