for what it's worth, i have found *one* other photo gallery which does have support for this, [aves](https://github.com/deckerst/aves). it is a tad more featureful too, which might not fit well...

should this be merged, or should we look at removing apt_info.py in favor of the apt-exporter?

seems this is likely a Debian packaging error. i have reported this as a bug against Debian bullseye here: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=987683
