I´m not native in english so i hope that you say in that way in a friendly manner not being disrespectful, but Widevine L1 is a reality with root:

With this kernel, I enjoy HD Playback on Stock Pie ROM with L1, and also I have rooted the device

Ive checked the kernel, and added the patches necessary, While netflix reports L1, the actual content quality is 540P (based on test pattern) which is L3 playback, further more for whatever reason every time i lunch the app with those patches it asks me to re-login and does not seem to stream all the time, downloaded content works about ~50% of the time.

To get proper L1 we need to hide OEM lock status, so far i havent founda reliable way to do that yet.
