Ah okay makes sense why the viewport protocol triggers this. I agree that simplifying to only use the `wl_surface::damage` request with `INT32_MAX` is probably the best approach for now.

Not sure I'm following the conversation fully, so you see those glitches on 555 and 560 drivers but not on 550? I don't think I've noticed anything like that myself...
Please include logs for OBS/SDDM/etc crashes, it's helpful for us to figure out who is affected by what. Please also keep the discussion relevant to the reported explicit sync issues....
