weather shortcut not working since google app update

Dear developer,

Since google app was updated a few days ago, the weather shortcut on the main screen doesn't open the weather forecast anymore (link doesn't work). Reverting back to previous version of google app solves it.

I also have this issue. Weather shows in "at a glance" widget, but pressing it doesn't open the weather detail. A notification displays shortly: "app not installed". I have Google app version 9.51.7.21.arm64 on OnePlus 6.

Edit: updated last night to 9.58.1.21 (beta), issue still present.

I was having the same issue even after today's Google Beta update. I uninstalled the Beta and it worked again. I re-installed the Beta and it still worked.

For me google podcast has no influence. Never installed it. At my OP6 the issue can be reproduced by installing / removing the google beta update. When google beta update is installed the weather link never works, I receive the same message as jorisvanderbol; "app not installed".

Update, I re-installed the beta last night and it still worked, but this morning when I tried it reverted back to the "app installed installed" and also I noticed that the commute times also would show. I have sent an email to Google, not really expecting an answer

I will release a bugfix update for this if testing shows my hacky workaround is working. To properly fix this permission denial I would have to update the bridge, so on the next big version update there will be a bridge update too.

Any new on how to solve this issue without uninstalling Google App updates?

Android 8.0.0 Google 9.88.5.21.arm64 (beta). Logcat provided over mail. After downgrade to 9.84.10.21.arm64 weather shortcut works as it should.

Resolved. Had to go back till the first default launcher and clear permissions and select the rootless pixel launcher. Rebooted and it took about 10 seconds after rebooting and the weather snapped on. I rebooted again and it seems to be be fixed. Sorry for the first posting.

This https://github.com/amirzaidi/Launcher3/issues/639#issuecomment-495065074 has helped me getting the weather shortcut working again on OnePlus 6 with latest Google app: disable At a glance in Rootless Launcher settings and add the At a glance widget through the widget menu.
