Black screen - Black magic - Need VRecord - What's Happening

We are having an issue where the black magic preview screen is black until the vrecord passthrough screen is open. We aren't able to use another software either, we tried OBS.

The signal is coming through because we can see it on the CRT before the TBC. Any ideas what is happening?
