[Package Request] - pam_yubico

Open AnomalRoil opened this issue 11 months ago • 0 comments

What package is missing from Amazon Linux 2023? Please describe and include package name. The pam_yubico package, which provides PAM (Pluggable Authentication Module) support for YubiKey-based authentication, is missing.

Is this an update to existing package or new package request? This is a new package request for Amazon Linux 2023.

Is this package available in Amazon Linux 2? If it is available via external sources such as EPEL, please specify. Yes, pam_yubico is available in Amazon Linux 2 through the EPEL repository.

Any additional information you'd like to include. (use-cases, etc) pam_yubico is critical for adding YubiKey-based two-factor authentication to systems. This enhances security for SSH, sudo, and other PAM-enabled services, which are important in securing production environments. Without this package, users must manually compile from source or find unsupported workarounds, which for a security-critical package is a bit sad.
