(use-cases, etc) If you're going to make your own version of Linux and not base it off of a popular version like CentOS, you are responsible to provide reasonable ways to install popular packages. In your case, the purpose of your Linux is presumably to host software on EC2. Dotnet is a very popular example of a platform for software on Linux, yet it's nearly impossible to get working reliably on Amazon Linux 2023. Even your support staff refuses to give instructions on how to install it reliably. Your choice to not directly support popular use cases like this one results in your users hacking solutions that are often insecure or fragile. I hope that fragile hacked systems is not the image Amazon wants long-term.
