I could see it is available in rhel7

It is widely used for geometry data type, like shape , location

@stewartsmith PostGIS is a widely used extension of Postgres, and a long-term, out-of-the-box "AWS RDS with Postgresql" citizen. Can we prioritize this for ARM64 and x86_64 in the official repositories for AL2023?

Wasting now 3 to 4 hours installing all prerequisites on Amazon Linux 2023 to install Postgis. Never again neither Amazon Linux 2023 nor 2040. Just to clarify, on the way to Postgis on AL2023, you will have to install around 20-25 libraries, some using YUM, several from the HOLY source. If you see my post here, and need Postgis, just go ahead and install Ubuntu.

Update. Still cannot make it work after 5 hours.

Finally, worked! But honestly, just install Ubuntu instead of AL2023. 5 seconds vs 5 hours. Significant!
