Honeypot in modal form

I have two forms on website – one on an ordinary contact page and one in a modal (which can be loaded on every webpage). Both forms have the honeypot field but with the modal form, it does not seem to work.

Looking further into it, amforms has the "Submitted from" which shows on which webpage the modal was activated. All modal spam comes from the modal form being called on the contact page. So my question is could an empty honeypot on the underlying contact form make the modal form pass through? Thanks for thoughts!

If anybody from am has got a chance to look at this, that would be greatly appreciated. Since there is only spam when the modal form is filled out floating above the contact page, it looks as if amforms is happy if the one honeypot in the actual contact form is empty. Could that be the case? Thank you very much!
