What if we changed this to be checkboxes? And then it would control sorting by the sum of the elements rather than each one individually. Because you could recreate this situation, but also do so much more!
I like it! Two thoughts: first, maybe we could incorporate an "all" checkbox into this legend (and then perhaps not have to deal with the current "Raw Repo Counts" checkbox). Second, maybe there could be some kind of aggregation / coloring / re-ordering of bars or something if you check (e.g.) 2 boxes. I feel like if someone clicked "male" and "mostly_female", the bars' order wouldn't be easily understood unless the "male" and "mostly_female" sections were next to each other and had something in common visually. Thoughts?
Agree with all of that. Except what does the "all" checkbox do? I have additional thoughts that we can talk about this weekend.
