Videos from months ago still have the timestamp saved by Youtube's watch history, and the timestamp is skipped to automatically. Usually it's because of a Sponsorblock segment that I clicked...

If automatic seeking (default) is disabled, and the seek bar is still visible under the thumbnail, a user can always scroll to that part of the video after opening it...
