Wjoy will not discover

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. I download wjoy, then click the little wiimote
2. i click Begin Discovery and press the red sync button on the back of the wii 
u pro controller, it goes for less than a second and doesn't discover
3. i tried everything with bluetooth preferences, one button click connection, 
and re-downloading


What version of the product are you using? On what operating system
mac os x 10.9.4 mavericks    wjoy 0.7.1
