Description

Trying to use my quest 2 on bazzite using alvr, following the guide here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2-Q4LeQR8Y

I am trying to run my headset purely over a wired connection to my pc, in the same room as the headset.

However alvr keep connecting and disconnecting whether by wire, or by over lan, and crashing and relaunching steam vr at the same time.

General Troubleshooting

  • [ X] I carefully followed the instructions in the README and successfully completed the setup wizard

What HorizonOS firmware are you on and what kind of cable are you using for your wired connection?

I only ask because Meta's firmware has only gotten worse over the years, with more issues being reported and unresolved. On v76 and onward, many people have reported issues with being unable to charge their Quest headsets while playing wired PCVR, citing the same disconnecting/reconnecting cycle.

I'm on 79.1034, with high quality, high speed USB cable. Exactly the same thing happens on Quest 3. Wifi works without any problems.
