Non-Steam VR games launch in flat screen mode

When I launch VR games that I own on steam everything works properly. But if I try to launch non-steam programs SteamVR doesn't see them and I remain in SteamVR home, sometimes a flat TV-Like screen appears in Home with what should have been my screen. It works perfectly fine when I use meta link. Adding such programs to steam also doesn't help. Is there any way to work around this?

This seems to also be a problem I'm facing too. I'm using Linux (Arch Linux)

It seems like a problem of SteamVR who's less compatable with linux
