Hacktoberfest is a seasonal challenge that happens in October. If you contribute to open source projects, you get a t-shirt and things. If you signed up for it, this would count as a contribution. That's why I said that if you want to collaborate and are thinking about participating in Hacktoberfest, you can make the PR in a couple of days. If you are not, the PR is welcome at any time (and thanks for your collaboration :))
