Splash picture is flickering in when switching video files

Hello, I am running vidlooper on a Raspberry 3B+ and want to use the Splash option. Right now the splash picture is flickering in between the videos whenever I switch them. The movies are loaded via USB stick.

Hope you can give me an advice to get this sorted. When I keep splash deactivated is just see a black screen when switching Many thanks for your help
