feat: open selected item in a preview split via `space`

It seems line overflows are making the UI glitchy, needs fixing. Should also perhaps:

• Open the split horizontally or vertically depending on available space.
• Make horizontal/vertical split behavior configurable.

I got the navigation/hotkey logic down I think, if anyone wants to test it out and come with feedback, now's the time :)
