Invisible cursor over search term

I am using solarized-light along with the solarized palette on the gnome-terminal. When I search a term (hlsearch is set), the cursor color over the first letter of the searched term is same as the background color. Because of this, it is very difficult to locate the searched term. Can you please provide a quick solution for this?
