Solarized menu items in MacVim not working

When Solarized is the active theme in MacVim, a "Solarized" menu appears. Whatever item I select in that menu, though, nothing happens (e.g., Background > Toggle Background doesn't change the background). Is that a bug or should I configure something? This is up to MacVim 7.4 (76).

I'm in the same situation.

A workaround is you can :SolarizedOptions and copy the options into your vimrc and make changes.

This might have been a bug in MacVim. Now I am using MacVim 7.4 (77) and all the options in the Solarized menu work as expected. For me this issue may be closed.
