POW - Widescreen Fix - other languages support
Hello! The Russian version has executable files with the following names: PrisonerLaunchRussian.exe and RussianPOW.exe.
PrisonerOfWarWidescreenFix.log: [2025-11-17 16:41:36.709] [PrisonerOfWarWidescreenFix] [error] Failed to detect supported game, RussianPOW.exe isn't supported by the fix.
It looks like the patch applies if you rename PrisonerLaunchRussian.exe to PrisonerLaunchEnglish.exe. But I'll check if everything works... The resolution is applied, but changing the FOV doesn't work. If I change RussianPOW.exe to Colditz.exe, the game doesn't launch through the launcher. If I run Coldtiz.exe separately, the FOV works, but the resolution isn't applied. Also, there is such a issue (with Colditz.exe), but as I already said, the FOV changes. I downloaded this build https://tgames.fr/progs-pc/force-60-fps-prisoner-of-war-world-war-ii-t12179.html and took PrisonerLaunchEnglish.exe from there. Changing the resolution and FOV now works.
The Russian version of Pilot Down: Behind Enemy Lines also has some issues. Executable file name: PDLauncher_r.exe. BEL.exe is the same file name in Russian. But it starts up fine. [2025-11-17 17:37:42.855] [PilotDownBehindEnemyLinesWidescreenFix] [error] Failed to locate camera HFOV instruction memory address. It's possible that BEL.exe is slightly different from the original, or perhaps that's how it's supposed to be... But changing FOV works well.
Hi, I'll take a look at the Russian versions of the games and see what I can do to adapt the fixes to them, if the ISOs for Russian are available.

Yes, it is available. https://rutracker.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5161728
I think it's enough to simply add variations of the executable file names. I also noticed that the source code doesn't mention versions in other languages, such as PrisonerLaunchFrench.exe, PrisonerLaunchGerman.exe, etc.

That's great, I'll inspect their code too and see if I also need to adjust the patterns. About other languages, I might add support, but usually I just fix English versions of games, unless people request for other languages in a specific game.
So I just added support for the Russian version, about other languages I can't test those as they have copy protection that no longer works on Windows 10, and only the English launcher had a c***k sadly.
