What is your relationship with utopia.com?

The package name for PxView is com.utopia.pxviewer, but what is your relationship with the owner of utopia.com?

Thank you for asking. By the way the package name for PxView is com.utopia.pxviewr without e.

There is no relationship between the app PxView, and the domain utopia.com. I chose the name utopia simply because I liked it and was looking for an interesting name for the app. The choice of 'Utopia' is purely coincidental and does not indicate any connection with the domain or its owner

Package names for Java and Android aren't fields where you can just put any word you like. They must be based on a domain you own. If you don't own a domain, one option is to use io.github.alphasp.pxviewr. Stop stealing other people's domains to use as your own.

Sure, I appreciate your opinion and it was a mistake to use that domain name. It was created way long time ago when I was young which I have no intention to purchase a domain to save cost and lack of naming idea/advice at that time.

@mullbird Calling the use of com.utopia.pxviewr "stealing a domain name" is inaccurate and inappropriate. In Android development, a package name is simply a unique identifier for an application — it does not imply domain ownership, nor is it subject to any domain registration rules. While using a reversed domain you own is a recommended naming convention, it is not a requirement, and neither Android tools nor Google Play validate domain ownership.

Therefore, using the term “stealing” in this context is an unfounded accusation. Without evidence of deceptive or malicious intent, such language is inappropriate and does not reflect the respectful tone that open-source projects deserve.
