Can't access the input with voice control

We're having problems accessing the input using Apple Voice Control on Chrome/Safari. When trying to use the 'show numbers' command the input doesn't receive a number. It's also not possible to access the input by saying 'click [label name]'.

The same issue is present on the w3 examples (https://www.w3.org/TR/wai-aria-practices-1.1/examples/combobox/aria1.1pattern/listbox-combo.html) so it seems like a Voice Control issue with role="combobox", rather than a problem with the component.
