Investigate new Prelude

I'm not feeling Relude, it imports way too much stuff. Given that this project is meant to be a reference "real" app for entry level Haskellers, I wonder if there's something else out there that has just enough to fix base and is not too overwhelming to beginners/intermediate devs.
