I switch mac but internet goes out!!!
Is there a solution to this problem, what should I do?
I solved this with power off wait a few minutes then power on my DOCSIS modem. It turns out my provider is pairing MAC adresses with dynamic leases. That way they can easely reassign the same dynamic IP as long as the lease time has not passed without renewal. If you switch MAC before the old MACs lease time has passed, they might assume you are asking for a second lease (new MAC let's them think this, they can't know it is the same device with a new random MAC). I assume switching modem off and on convinces them I also switched the device :-)
or you could've just switched your wireless card back up with " ifconfig wlan0 up") please stop making easy things so complicated :-)

Lol hey bro right quick what if in theory I connect to my router pentesting right and I want to bypass my mac being black listed yet I have the same mac address everytime I connect because it's automatically reset every time I connect to the original mac address how would I go about connecting with an already spoofed mac since I black listed my original mac would I have to forget the network and reconnect as if it was the first time?
would I need to edit wpa_supplicant.conf and write a small script to execute the connection witrh a spoofed mac?
here are some specs I have
GNU MAC changer 1.7.0 Linux kali 5.18.0-kali5-amd64 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Debian 5.18.5-1kali6 (2022-07-07) x86_64 GNU/Linux
steps to reproduce
blacklist your own original mac bring the nic down spoof your mac with mac changer bring the nic up connect to already saved network
mac reverts to original mac address
I'm gonna keep testing to see what's up bro thnx in advance
i tried this method at burger king and the internet did indeed go out
this is against a cisco router
