No-semantics custom fields?

There are occasional feature requests like #1089 or "I'm tracking reply MIME-Type, can I get stats on that?" or "I'm tracking TLS parameters" that mostly seem to boil down to "I have a string field (possibly with a small-ish length limit) that needs no further semantic handling", and the current band-aid is to pick the one you want the most and put it into %e.

Maybe it would be useful to allow "custom" token specifiers, for example, %1 through %9, with config file options for title and description?

I like that idea and probably the simplest to add. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll look into implementing this.

Is there any progress on this feature? It would be great to look at the URLs with the most 5XX errors on the same page as the rest of my statistics

Not yet, but thanks for the reminder. I'll bump the priority of this as I keep getting requests of this type (custom reports).
