Alerts with GoAccess

Open ArunDahiya1 opened this issue 5 years ago • 6 comments

Can we have alerts with goAccess. For ex: If I am having a spike in errors like 404 or 500 can I trigger an alert through mail? It will be helpful to have a system monitoring health of my web server along with log analytics.

+1 from #1954. For me, it would be very helpful if a spike in visitors over n amount could execute a bash script or similar. As for an email based alert, I believe a webhook based solution may be more beneficial and practical to more users. This would enable me to receive a notification within tools like Slack or Discord, alerting me to the fact that an incident had been identified, and action taken. Thresholds could be as simple as x IP exceeded y predefined limit. Or something more complicated.

Any updates or ETA on this? Seems very useful!

@UpperCenter I'm thinking this could go out in v1.5, I can certainly bump this up. Thanks for the reminder!

Our company would also need this. GoAccess would be our go to solution, if alerts were supported. Mainly needed for tracking abnormal request behaviour. Like same IP sending multiple POST requests to same endpoint over a period of time would generate an error, that could be forwarded to Slack for example.

@allinurl Hey! Great work on 1.7, any chance this is still in the pipeline? 🙏

Alerts along #117 are top priority on the list. Stay tuned as these two will be out rather soon.
