FAQ: how to use "these icons" and page templates?

Open leinadlime opened this issue 5 years ago • 1 comments

// background:

i am thinking regularly on how to "tag" my scans and integrate them into my office workflow. it would be nice, if i could set some tags to have a start of categorization.

there is this "icon bar", but i at the first look, i couldnt find use of these "Standard Tags" and I ignored them a long time,. [UX-Hint: not self-explainable yet]

now I slowly get, there is some functionability i wish for, and it's maybe already implemented, but i need to understand how to use it.

// the "issue":

After reading this README, I still have a problem to understand the usage of this "standard tags". Opening the "printed special page templates", which resembles the same icons on the side. With 50 pages of them. I must admit: i dont get how i should how the usage should work.

the more i think how to use them, the more i am a riddled. if I print these pdf's (all the same pages?), i use them how?

anyhow, it's not also easy for me to use these symbols as categories, however to use these templates (my first instinctive guess, was more like a sticker on a paper), since i would need some more "office-themed" symbology (or rather text).

I hope I dont get anything hardly wrong,.. since for sure, i could recompile the app/pdf with my "own tags", but i am still quite doubtful about if I am maybe just overlook something...

would be nice if you could share how this works so we can transform this into the FAQ section, as far i am not the only one having these understanding issues :) :+1:

Oh, i guess i found the hint in the roadmap: Rocketbook Looking up what it is, shows it is a quite cool idea/startup, for digitalizing notes. here the "everlast" model, in action, how a possibility of "similar tags" works: https://www.youtube.com/embed/FL2aOGwm3Ak

i may say i like the idea, but recognizing this software (it is?) in that trailer, made me quite happy to see,

since a good (free!) scanning app was missing. and a startup commercializing the one usage of this app, could be help to improve and maintain this foundation.

so i get now: in an analog way, i print these papers, and take notes on them!

it's not for scanning my invoices and mark them with a tag!
