BUG: markdown does not pick up spaces in text

Describe the bug when I am trying to write a text and at a few spaces before the text, it is not picked up

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Go to a post
2. try to put 10 spaces between two words
3. See that it is not picked up in markdown
4. when you reopen the post, the spaces are removed

Expected behavior If I am adding spaces on purpose, I want to see them in the text
