What is the difference between using a wireless network card and open-WiFi for OWfuzz?

As mentioned in the readme, you can use SDR devices or wireless network card for fuzzing. So what are the restrictions on choosing a wireless network card for fuzzing compared to using sdr?

You can do some PHY fuzzing using openwifi, a wireless card can not do this.
