Reimplementation of option and playlist hooks

The option and playlist hooks would be very very helpful for me.

I read the bug report about it. I don't know if there is always the need for transfering so much data. For me is only the hook call of option/playlist needed.

Yes, clearly it is the data transfer which is problematic not the hook calls. I will come up with a patch to reintroduce these hooks without any data transfer until we figure out a way for that.
