I'll admit its not perfect, but here is something that I just tossed together. http://bit.ly/1DKfkVP

also, I found these for your Google Drive icon (in case you hadn't already fixed that one) http://bit.ly/1CM4SJG

That was the "Sample Games" folder icon, not the DOS games icon.

This is what you want: folder icon 512x512

I think a .icns version with correct sizes for each resolution would be appreciated.

I'd also appreciate a fix for this as Boxer always sets this icon when running (so you can't overwrite it from finder)

I never particularly enjoyed the "shelf" appearance and amount of effort it must require to maintain such a tiling background solution, esp. when Finder lets you dynamically adjust the icon size with a slider. It's tricky has heck, of course, and eliminates the need for dedicated library management software a la Delicious Library just to get a "sexy" UI. But… skeuomorphism turned out to be a bad idea, and arbitrary visual "shelves" that mean nothing at all aren't actually that useful, so instead, I utilize the Grouped By view, and heavily, heavily utilize tagging: (all of these being legitimately owned software, of course! Also early screenshots as I was starting to build the collection)

I'd love it if Boxer would leave the icon and background on this folder alone. 😉
