[bug] Home Page: Freeze when opening template project

Describe the bug Meshroom application becomes unresponsive when a template option is selected on the Home Page.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Go to the Home Page
2. Click on any of the template options
3. Window becomes unresponsive

Expected behavior The template project file corresponding to the file at aliceVision/share/meshroom/*.mg should be loaded.

Desktop (please complete the following and other pertinent information):

• OS: Windows 11
• Python version: Should be embedded in python3.dll / python311.dll (if needed 3.12.10 is installed on host)
• Qt/PySide: 6.8.3 (Found in lib/PySide6/__init__.pyc so might not be correct)
• Meshroom version: Release
  • Binary version: 2025.1.0

Additional context Current workaround I found is to go to aliceVision/share/meshroom and to select the template you want to open. To actually open it in Meshroom I used the Open With dialog on Windows 11 to select the Meshroom application executable.

Edit Forgot to mention that this only happens when running the Windows build. I tested it on my Arch system and it performed fine.

I also noticed the Home Page being slow, but for me waiting a few seconds to load the template works. You could also try to open a blank project and then add a template from the file menu.

But I agree, this should be improved.

At first I did try to wait but after 5 minutes I felt it wasn't worth it.

Yes 5+ minutes is far longer than it supposed to be. Takes ~6 second on my setup.

For me, it takes forever (never loads) when selecting any option. looks like closing MSI Afterburner fixed it. from never loading to loading in 3 Seconds. Could be some overlays making this unresponsive?

Now that you mentioned it. I also have MSI afterburner installed. Thanks for the diagnosis!
