[bug] FeatureExtraction fails if the path to images contains a non-ASCII character
Describe the bug
FeatureExtraction fails with the message [14:14:50.784266][info] Job max memory consumption for one image: 825 MB if the path to images contains a non-ASCII character
To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:
- Open Meshroom
- Drag and drop photos from a folder with a non-ASCII character. I used
E:\tést\photos - Save the project in the same folder as the photos, I used
E:\tést\tmp.mg - Run the node
FeatureExtraction - Get the error message
Expected behavior
No error message. Doing the same steps as above with test instead of `tést´ works perfectly.

I discovered this solution thanks to this reddit post (from 7 months ago): https://www.reddit.com/r/photogrammetry/comments/196kjor/comment/khunkqg/
I’m guessing it is related to https://github.com/alicevision/Meshroom/issues/1988#issuecomment-1864630369 and will be fixed by https://github.com/alicevision/AliceVision/pull/1629
(apologies, I did look for open issues containing “ASCII” or “character” but the only one referencing this are closed)
This is indeed fixed by https://github.com/alicevision/AliceVision/pull/1629, which will be part of the next release.
You could add a note about this on the website, otherwise people will keep coming accross this issue and (maybe) create bug reports here.
