About task and task instance

I want to know the relationship between task and task instances. For example, in trace 2018,

R6_3 | 371 | j_3 | 1 | Terminated | 157297 | 157325 | 100 | 0.49

Task R6_3 has 371 instances, does that mean the data of Task R6_3 was divided into 371 pieces, and they were processed in different containers? and why tasks in the same job have a different number of instances?
