Duplicate notes created

Open Andy6697 opened this issue 2 years ago • 7 comments

Duplicate notes are created when you create a new note, leave the note opened in the background, come back to the note later, and then go back to the main notes folder.

For example, if I create a new note and then switch to a different app in the middle of inputting the title, and then return to Noto an hour later and go back to the main notes folder, I can see two duplicate notes in the folder. One that was created when I first created the note, and a duplicate one that was created when I exited the note and went back to the notes folder.

What Android version are you facing this issue on?

I am on Android version 13 on a Google Pixel 6a.

I encountered this for the first time in 2.2.0 RC on Android 10, in November. Not reported cause I couldn't reproduce.

This is still existent (v2.3.0-beta2). I seem to have observed that it happens when Noto is restarted in a way that the N-Logo is displayed. Hope that helps.

I'm still looking for a way to reproduce it.

One more vague voodoo flavoured hint: With the proceeding described by Andy6697 (which is identical to my own experience) I could create either two or three notes out of my first one. That's the same result/amounts I get when creating quick notes: If Noto is running, I get 2 notes & 2 notifications. If I didn't use it for a long time or forced quit it and then use the quick note menu item, I get 3 notes announced with 3 notifications.
