[Suggestion] Replace the automatic scrolling feature of preview cards for selected notes to the feature of manual scrolling of preview cards for all folder notes

Open AI-IMED opened this issue 2 years ago • 12 comments

This change can have a great benefit on improving the user experience and speed of execution of tasks, in this way it is possible to access the sequential selection and show the note options simultaneously and with only one long press, instead of the current method that requires 1-long press, then 2-select a note, then 3- Select the required notes, and then 4- Click on Options, all these steps (actions) will be shortened and executed in the same screen (The place).

And all this already sorted/ordered and already filtered! Damn, damn... :))

Could you please elaborate more? @AI-IMED

We can take advantage of long press on any note of any folder to show all notes of that folder in manual scrollable left and right and selectable previews instead of showing only that note.

Please, let me know if you still need this after the latest beta, where the app differently handles dragging, and selection.

I do not hide from you, for me I did not like this method, I began to see more buttons that accompanied this method and that distorted the interface of the application, I do not say my idea is the best, but the current method is not ideal for the user experience

@uli-on thoughts?

Functionally, the current version is working nicely for me re this topic's criticism.

A portion of that, though, that's still contained, is the auto-started slider that's forcing me to interact with it in order to stop moving and stop distracting my attention from what I actually want to do. I could gladly have it optional but have the drawer slide up completely so I don't need to swipe it upwards in order to see whether all tools are there.

What slider are you specifically talking about? I'm having a bit of difficulty understanding.

Do you mean you want to have all the tools available upon selection, and without having to open the drawer? Or is this about something else?

Sorry, I probably mixed up terminologies. I mean the sliding representation (preview portion) of the selected notes that move along the tool drawer's top edge one by one. With this info, does my post make more sense now?

uli-on avatar Jun 06 '23 20:06 uli-on

It does make sense now. Thank you!

Re-reading your answer, it has two parts:

A portion of that, though, that's still contained, is the auto-started slider that's forcing me to interact with it in order to stop moving and stop distracting my attention from what I actually want to do.

You would like a way to stop the auto-scroll behavior for notes.

I could gladly have it optional but have the drawer slide up completely so I don't need to swipe it upwards in order to see whether all tools are there.

You want the drawer to be completely visible, and not requiring to swipe up manually.

Please, correct me if I'm wrong.

I'd love it if the auto-moving representation of notes would be optional (turn on or off in prefs). This would create space to open the tools drawer completely. I, personally, don't need to see my selection of notes reflected at the drawer's top edge, but I also do not want to take that animation thing away from anybody, maybe there's use in having it.
